Dutch Golden Age Floral Still Lifes

Inspired by the magical bouquets of Dutch and Flemish painters, these drawings take the grand still-life arrangements of the 17th century and give them a playful Hello Little Milly twist with bold lines and cheerful shapes. One of my favorite exhibitions was the 2016 Met Breuer Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible, where so many artworks had both the start of a palette combined with the line of the artist. These drawings are inspired by those “unfinished” works.
